We have a clear and structured syllabus that is shared with parents so
that you always know exactly what we are teaching on a weekly basis.
Our teachers will also assign homework on a weekly basis. We
strongly encourage our students to participate in completing their
homework for optimum progress!
Our teachers interact with our students throughout the entirety of the
lesson to ensure that help and support is always on hand when they
Our lessons are planned around each student’s ability to ensure they are
in receipt of the individualised support they need to continuously
progress in their learning.
In these lessons, we progress your child from their current reading ability into a fully competent reader of the Quran with the correct application of pronunciation and tajweed. We use the Safar Academy Complete Qaida - Non Madinah Script to work through each of our student’s different reading abilities. Depending on your child’s ability, we begin by teaching the Arabic alphabet, their shapes, sounds and pronunciation all the way up to reading the quran fluently.
In these lessons, we progress your child from their current memorised surah all the way up to Surah Mulk - (for tailored experiences we can progress beyond this surah too). Our teachers teach our students how to read each of their designated ayah’s with the correct pronunciation and tajweed. Our teachers repeat over them with our students to ensure they’re ready to revise it in their own time before coming back the following week for their test!
In this lesson, we combine the learning of Islamic Studies and Quranic Arabic into one lesson, with 30 minutes dedicated to each subject. In Islamic Studies, students spend their time developing their knowledge in different areas of Islamic studies. Students from the age of five and above, study from Islamic educational books covering a substantial range of Islamic topics including Aqidah, Fiqh and Akhlaaq. In Quranic Arabic, we hone in on the meanings and lessons of the quran for each of the surahs so that when our students are learning and memorising them, they are also understanding the great meanings behind them. This builds their love for the knowledge they intake even further. For students in our Lower School, we also focus our lessons on understanding the weight and meaning behind each of Allah swt’s 99 names.
